Kia Ceed

Kia Ceed is one of the seven nominees for Car of the Year 2019 award, alongside Alpine A110 Citroën C5 Aircross, Ford Focus, Jaguar I-Pace, Mercedes-Benz A-class and Peugeot 508. Let’s know something else about the South-Korean compact car.

Kia makes the Ceed (previously cee’d) since 2006 in its Slovakian factory in Zilina, and the model with a European reference in its name has always had a continental approach in its style, powertrains and dynamics. This third generation is much more successful at that, especially if you consider the powerful GT derivative. The popular 5-door version, good value for money, is always compact but now wider, and therefore with more room inside. Besides this hatchback and the longer Sportswagon, Kia offers a third body variation, the stylish ProCeed (4.6 m long), which may be described as a 5-door coupe. Sportswagon and Pro both sport a huge volume in their boots. The cabin improves in quality feel, and the big central touchscreen doesn’t imply an absence of well-placed physical switches and controls. Powertrains will include efficient 3&4-cylinder petrol engines, also a 1.6 diesel with a mild-hybrid 48-volt system.
